Notarization Types
Pines & Pen offers strictly mobile notarizations — your home, your office, or any other location of your choosing.
Most services are considered a mobile notarization regardless of the type of notarization selected. As such, each appointment may be subject to travel fees.
Traditional Notarization — $8 + Travel Fee
Traditional notarization in North Carolina requires the signer and notary to be physically present in the same room, utilizing paper documents, ink signatures, and a physical stamp seal. Select this option if you have paper documents requiring notarization.
In-Person Electronic Notarization — $10 + Travel Fee
In-person electronic notarization (IPEN), involves documents that are notarized in electronic form, and the Notary and document signer sign with an electronic signature, but all other elements of a traditional, paper notarization apply to electronic notarization, including the requirement for the signer to physically appear before the Notary. Select this option if you have electronic documents requiring in-person notarization.
Remote Electronic Notarization — $15
Remote electronic notarization (REN), involves documents that are notarized in electronic form, and a signer personally appearing before the Notary at the time of the notarization from separate locations. The notary and signer use audio-visual technology over the internet and a state-approved platform, instead of being physically present in the same room. Identity verification is completed via knowledge-based authentication and credential analysis, and the session is recorded. Select this option if you have electronic documents that do not require in-person notarization.
Loan Signing — Contact for Pricing
Loan signing services include notarizing required signatures on loan documents and facilitating signings at a mutually agreed-upon location.
Services may include printing and organizing loan document packages, verifying identification, ensuring all required signatures and initials are completed, and preparing documents for timely return to the title company or lender in accordance with provided instructions.
Apostille Services — Contact for Pricing
An apostille is a certificate issued by a government agency verifying the authenticity of the signature of a Notary Public or other public official. An Apostille Agent can provide courier services to deliver notarized documents requiring apostilles to the appropriate agency. This might entail sending the notarized document, a check for the processing fee, the apostille request form and a return mailing label to the apostille-issuing agency on the customer’s behalf. The agency would then process the request, attach the apostille and mail the document with the apostille back to the Notary or the customer. Apostille agents may also contact the issuing agency on the customer’s behalf to request instructions related to obtaining an apostille.
